Beating Spring Showers With A Game Console

http://www.hometheaterandgameconsolesreview.com/2010/April/Beating-Spring-Showers-With-A-Game-Console.htm

Throwing my arms up high into the air, the morning sun cut through the blinds but not to the degree I had become accustomed to this spring season. On further investigation the light shining through was not direct sun but the brightness of the morning reflecting off the white thick clouds above. After opening my sliding bedroom window, the smell of potential rain wafted in and gave me the chills. A quick weather outlook online showed me there was a 75 percent chance of rain by the mid afternoon. With work off and prior plans to go on a short hike or at least jog in the area I started to rethink my game plan to have a roof over my head the entire day. The LCD widescreen HDTV was looking a lot more enticing.

Powering up the home theater, I got down on my knees to see what disc was in the game console tray. A first person shooting title I had found at an online retailer like Home Online Direct at http://www.homeonlinedirect.com/ showed its face as the tray slid open. Before investing some serious time on the game console, I went onto the patio to get further reassurance the days weather was going to bring spring showers. Cold and crisp outside, not a few seconds after sliding the glass patio door open did I see the first rain droplet patter off the railing. Then came another and another. The white clouds filling the sky had darkened since getting up and the heaven’s opened.

It was great to see the mid morning showers as the streets and natural life not to mention the California water tabled desperately needed it. Watching the street becoming shinning, I came back inside and sat back down in front of the LCD widescreen HDTV. Yep, today would be a great day to play the game console. The splattering of rain outside intensified and I turned up the home theater. Soon any sound of what was going on outside was lost behind the explosion of digital gunfire within the online match. Alerts barking out enemy positions and the assorted stories filled my headset speakers. This was just another great day in front of the game console. When the rain did stop I turned off the LCD widescreen HDTV and went on a nice jog smelling of dew and springtime bloom. It all worked out great and now I want to buy new game console accessories for the next rain shower.

That was the beginning of my home theater envy.

My brother-in-law has a true home theater. He's even got the theater chairs going for him. His home theater is located in his entire basement and his home is a mansion. With a state-of-the-art sound system and a movie projector that shoots at a movie screen, he doesn't even have to go to the movies. With his connections, he can also find the latest and greatest movies- before they hit the movie theaters.

I'd imagine his home theater is close to what Steven Spielberg has got. The great thing about his home theater is that it actually feels like a theater. His chairs are the red classic kind that flips up and down. He's even got a vintage popcorn machine in the back of the theater to add that buttery popcorn smell.

It's loads of fun hanging out at his home theater. He claims he only uses it for parties. With a home theater like that, you could start renting it out for parties. Perhaps, one day, I could own a home theater like his.

I just got my hands on this new sword fighting game for my Wii game console, and boy is this sucker just so much fun to play! I have the Nintendo Wii video games accessories for sword fighting too, so these Nintendo Wii video games really suck me into the action! I was doing some reading up on how they designed these Nintendo Wii video games, and they actually hired professional sword fighters to come in so they could mimic every motion of their bodies as they hacked and slashed. It really shines through when you are playing these newer Nintendo Wii video games, especially if you have the cool accessories like I do. There is just something more to holding that controller in your hand versus using a sword that really changes the way that you become immersed into Nintendo Wii video games; it’s truly hard to beat!

These next few weeks are extremely busy for me. Between short vacations, business trip, helping a friend move and trying to fit work in wherever possible I’m working hard to save money where I can. It would be nice to say that these four trips over a 5-week time span aren’t going to break the bank but I know they will. So instead of going out and spending money I am planning to use the game console a lot more and instead of watching the NBA playoffs at a bar, I’ll do it in our living room in front of a LCD widescreen HDTV. I don’t think this is a bad thing either.

Video games and home theater entertainment are two of my favorite ways to relax. It just so happens they are also extremely cost effective. After the initial online home theater and video game purchases, it really isn’t expensive to keep the at home media experience going especially for those who find a nice deal at an ecommerce store. Technology has really made it simple to find things to do.

Playing Out Potential NBA Playoff Match Ups on the Game Console

http://www.hometheaterandgameconsolesreview.com/2010/April/Playing-Out-Potential-NBA-Playoff-Match-Ups-on-the-Game-Console.htm

When I got wind there is a chance the Portland Trail Blazers will face the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the NBA playoffs starting this Sunday my palms got a little bit sweaty. I love the Suns. They have been my team since going to college in Arizona. The run and gun offense captivated me because it made a fast game even quicker. While they have fallen flat in past seasons when the post season comes around I see them doing better this year. My friend is a diehard Portland supporter. For most of the season, I was sure his team would not make it past the regular season with their tendency to be injured.

Now if the remaining games go right they will face the Suns first round. This is what I hope happens. The Blazers will be there most likely playing either Phoenix, Utah or Denver right off the bat. This is a huge step up from the off chance they play the Lakers, which by the way they beat this past Sunday after Kobe missed two last second free throws.

Before talking any trash come playoffs I want a better idea of who would win such a match if the Suns hosted the Blazers. I turned to my game console, a current NBA video game and home theater for answers. My game console has allowed me to play near identical in roster matches between the two teams. With the home theater turned up and the clarity of our LCD widescreen HDTV, this video game can at times seem like a real broadcasted game.

I beat the Portland AI every time on the game console but lost once after facing a formidable online opponent who clearly played this title much more then me. I’m confident after this game console experiment Phoenix would make second round if they faced Portland first. This is huge news for Suns fans. I still want to get one last look over at Home Online Direct at http://www.homeonlinedirect.com/ to see if they have any home theater electronics that would be useful for NBA playoff time. This is the time of the year I could not be happier to have bought a LCD widescreen HDTV about 6 months prior. Sports and high definition should never be separated again. Keep an eye out on how the NBA Western Conference turns out. There is still much work to be done before we get to the conference championships.

My dad went online and bought a plasma HDTV not too long ago and we have yet to use it for anything else than playing our Wi video games. I am sure that everything else on the plasma HDTV looks awesome, but the moment it came through the door we hooked up the Wii to it and the experience was so awesome that we are convinced there is no other experience out there than the video games plasma HDTV experience. Even my dad, who at that moment was not a huge video games fan got totally hooked on the video game experience and now even there is no one else in the entertainment room there he is having a ball with some Wii tennis and the plasma HDTV. I am sure we are going to get around to watch some movies and even a couple of baseball games on that beautiful plasma HDTV, but to be honest, it might take a while. For now we’re just going to let the plasma HDTV and our video games do their thing.

Our home theater became the centerpiece of family life in 2009 and it's a good thing. We are a family of nature lovers and have found all kinds of documentaries at our public library just a few miles from home. The kids love to watch wildlife shows, so those are always at the top of the list when I check for the available documentaries at the library. We even watch them two or three times on our home theater because there is so much information presented in them.

Our LCD widescreen HDTV has the sharpest picture and is state of the art. We can even cable over from the Internet to watch live streaming videos, and that's not all. We can put our camera's memory card in the TV and review our photos and watch our video clips. When we put our home theater together last year, we had no idea there were so many options available for enjoying it. The audio is first rate, the picture unbelievable, and best of all, it's energy efficient. When the kids are home from school, they also enjoy playing their video games on it. It didn't take long for our home theater to become central to family entertainment, not surprising since it has so many functions.

It is fascinating to put myself on the cutting edge and then help shape that edge with each choice I make. I did not invent the HD DVD Player or the Mini DV Camcorder and I'm still trying to figure out what "LCD digital frame" means to me. Nonetheless, I know that my voice helps to create the demand and my choice will effect the supply. I've recently been shopping the Internet for the newest LCD widescreen HDTV models. I already have a 55” LCD widescreen HDTV and I consider it to be a member of my immediate family. I power it on almost immediately upon arriving home and so I surely have enough room for another. I may wallpaper my house with these one day, if they get any slimmer. Life for me is more like a daydream all the time when you consider the variety and innovation that has come to be. Any size TV is inspiring to me. My LCD widescreen HDTV is a glowing reminder to think big.

How about an LCD widescreen HDTV to play your games on. The gaming experience has really become a two-fold process made up of, first, the game console and then the display medium. Some people say that one is more important than the other, but in reality they are like the yin and yang of gaming. I remember the first time I played with my Wii games and how much fun I had that day, but the first day I played my Wii games on an LCD widescreen HDTV was almost like a religious experience. The action on the LCD widescreen HDTV was thrilling and exciting gripping my senses and not letting go until I’d experienced what real fun was all about. Everyone I know that has an LCD widescreen HDTV set up in their gaming room describes a similar experience followed by a new loving relationship with their game consoles and their LCD widescreen HDTVs. How any one of us played video games without these incredible LCD widescreen HDTV for so long is beyond me, but I’m just happy our homes can all be blessed with these LCD widescreen HDTV gaming gems today.

My husband and I have been fans of this cafe for years, so I was a little surprised to hear that they had invested in something like a plasma HDTV for four areas of the restaurant.

For as long as I can remember there has been one large screened plasma HDTV hanging over the bar area and when my husband and his friends go watch the game, that's where they always sit. Some of the people actually bring their families and would sit where they could see the plasma HDTV from their chairs, but my husband and his pals always liked to be right up in the middle of all the excitement and action so they didn't venture far from the far. If I had my guess, I'd say they probably didn't even sit down during the entire sporting events, regardless of what happens to be playing, simply because they don't want to miss anything that happens on the plasma HDTV.

Since my husband has done nothing but talk about the fact that the cafe has added a plasma HDTV that will allow people to see the games from every corner of the restaurant, I decided to stop by last night and check it out. I have to admit that what I saw was pretty impressive. So much so that I'd be willing to go to the restaurant while my husband watches the game on the TV, as long as I knew I could sit in one of the booths and enjoy a chat with a friend or anyone else who I happen to run into.

When I got home, I asked him if he'd ever considered us buying a plasma HDTV and by his reaction you would have thought I had kissed him. He said he dreams of having a plasma HDTV of his own, but figured they weren't affordable. Later last night after he'd gone to bed, I went online to check the prices and I found a plasma HDTV for a great price at Online Direct whose online store can be found by visiting www.homeonlinedirect.com. I decided on a whim to order T220HD 22" Widescreen HDTV as a surprise to my husband. What still is in the air is how the home theater is going to be set up. Our living room is, at the moment, looking somewhat sparse as we still have stuff to move in. Before I did anything, I brought the home theater out onto the carpet and tried to envision where each speaker would work best. I have a seven speaker setup so it leaves me two adjacent to the front of the screen, one in the middle, two to the rear, one centered behind the couch and then the last which I have no idea of where to put.

If anything, I may just leave that last home theater speaker as a backup if one of them blows out. In an apartment, big sound can only go so far before the neighbors’ start pounding on the ceiling. It is nice to have another opportunity to wire everything up and position the soundscape as needed. In my old place, it was limited to the space. Here I have a bit more playing ground.

I recall what the games were like on the pre-next generation video game consoles of yesteryear, and there really is no comparison between them when you really stop and think about it. When did anybody think that there would be next generation video game consoles that would come out loaded with the awesome features that the ones of the present day have? Things like being able to log online and play gamers from around the world, or being able to watch HD DVD movies on next generation video game consoles! Then, of course, let us not forget that the graphics – which are high definition – on the next generation video game consoles of today are truly impressive and amazing to the eye. Indeed, these consoles have truly come a long way since the early 90s!

It's the season for March Madness and this weekend we were holed up watching the great games on our home theater. It's our first year with an LCD TV and boy, does it make a difference. It doesn't change how the game is played, but it sure changes how we enjoy viewing them. The pictures are crisp, the action fast, and the colors are simply incredible. We plan on staying home to watch these games on our home theater until the tournament is over, and then it'll be back to watching the playoffs for the NBA and an exciting baseball season cheering on our home team, the Diamondbacks.

The anchor of our home theater, our LCD TV, is big enough for all of us to enjoy, whether we're up close and personal with it or sitting on the other side of the room. We love to watch movies on it when we're not enjoying sports and we can't wait for the horse racing season to start, too. That should be a stunning show of color, too, since the horse tracks are usually verdant green and the jockeys colorfully dressed. Between the sports we enjoy and the game consoles we can hook up to it, our home theater is one of the best investments we've ever made. <img src="http://admin.moguling.com/controls/oboutSuite/Editor/Editor_data/ed_icons/emoticons/hot.gif" / alt="home theater, game console">

Reading Online About New 3-D Nintendo Video Games

http://www.hometheaterandgameconsolesreview.com/2010/March/ReadingOnlineAboutNew3DNintendoVideoGames.htm

There apparently is a revolution coming to the Nintendo video games as we know them my friends, and I want to be the first cat at the doorstep waiting for food when they are released. I am not kidding you either, it seems that in the very near future, Nintendo video games will be totally three dimensional, and no glasses will be required! Can you imagine playing 3-D Nintendo video games in your home? Me either, but it is going to be a reality that they soon unveil. I was reading a technology report about these Nintendo video games online the other day, and that was when I saw an article about how there are two newer Nintendo video games systems that will be coming out in the years ahead that will offer true three dimensional video gaming to all of you lovers of video games. I was reading about how they will pull this off, and it still seems a bit confusing. But you can rest assured that this lover of Nintendo video games will get his hands on a unit as soon as they are released and report my findings back to you all!

I have tried for years to get my husband to join me at the local gym. I have had him come in on my pass as a guest. I even got him an awesome monthly membership at a low fee. Even with that my husband failed to become a gym fly like myself. He just didn't like the setting and claimed he had no time to work out.

That all changed when we got a set up with Wii video games. Now my husband is hooked on fitness himself. He really enjoys and gets into the Wii video games, especially Wii fitness and bowling. I don't care what the game is I just like the idea that my mate is ,moving his body, raising his heart rate and sweating.

My husband has now found the time to exercise. He gets up early every morning and turns on those Wii video games. He works out for about forty-five minutes then hits the shower and heads off to work. He has expressed that his tummy is slimmer, his pants are loser and he has more energy. I am so proud of my man and his new physique!

My Game Console Kept Me Company Last Night

http://www.hometheaterandgameconsolesreview.com/2010/March/My-Game-Console-Kept-Me-Company-Last-Night.htm

My game console, LCD widescreen HDTV and home theater system kept me very good company last night when I was unable to sleep. I occasionally suffer from insomnia and I take herbal supplements to help with this problem. In most cases these herbal supplements I take are enough to get me off to sleep. However there are times when the herbal supplements don’t work as well as I’d like them to. This happened last night because I have a fever and I find it hard to sleep when my body is too hot. Instead of lying in bed feeling angry that I could not sleep I decided to get up. I switched on my game console and LCD widescreen HDTV and spent the next couple of hours playing video games. Playing on my game console did not make me want to go to sleep. I had given up on sleep already when I came downstairs and started playing the video games in the basement den. However it did help me to stop thinking about my insomnia or that fact that I would soon be a complete wreck from not sleeping.

Taking a Break from the Game Console to Golf

http://www.hometheaterandgameconsolesreview.com/2010/March/Taking-a-Break-from-the-Game-Console-to-Golf.htm

It’s a dreary winter day outside, being a Sunday four of us are sitting on the coach staring at the LCD widescreen HDTV as a 6 foot tall 22 year old wearing sweat pants and an orange tee-shirt pulls the game console controller back initiating his WWII fighter up into the air into a loop as a pursuing group of prop propeller powered fighters try and stay on his six. This is the same move he has done over and over again to evade their firing mini-guns. The tally is it has worked four times and failed five. As the bright sun shines off the LCD widescreen HDTV, a ting from the first digital bullet bounces off the fuselage. Soon his shinning aluminum plane is smoking and about to stall out.

This is it, one of the roommates says smiling towards the person holding the game console controller. Not quite yet, he gets up adjusting in the corner couch. A fraction of a second later, his plane explodes and a menu asking to restart or exit pops onto the screen. I get up and tell him that is about as much game console dog fighting I can watch in one sitting. Glancing out the window, it is still raining so any outdoor activity is pretty much out. What about the driving range, someone suggests.

I think for a moment. That would be fun but what about a putting competition right here in the hallway. My putter is sitting in the closet inside a golf bag with tens of balls. The only thing we are missing is a hole to shoot for. It would have been nice to have the Wood Putter by(Pack of 1) I found while browsing YaYa Golf at http://www.yayagolf.com/ but we instead use an empty wide mouthed soup can pulled from the trash and anchored against the front door, ten feet from where we are going to putt from.

So now all of us apart from the orange tee-shirt friend are standing in the hallway ready to compete in a putt off. Sweats is still hammering away on the game console trying to beat a level. I start first putting the ball a bit off course and it misses the can. Right before the next guy puts the sounds of a plane buzzing the ground explodes out of the home theater. We all look back and tell him to turn it down. He does and the competition continues. The third roommate nails the cup first putt. Hands in the air, he now reels off ideas for the next activity.

Dino Heartbreaker on LCD Widescreen HDTV

http://www.hometheaterandgameconsolesreview.com/2010/March/Dino-Heartbreaker-on-LCD-Widescreen-HDTV.htm

Fans of the NBA really got a treat last night if they watched the LA Lakers host the Toronto Raptors. In what began as an attack on all fronts from the Raptors created a quick lead that held out until the fourth quarter of the game. Bosh fired on all cylinders driving hard to the lane and even hitting a deep 3 ball with only seconds left on the clock. This was a game plagued with fouls. It seemed like every time I came back in the living room and looked at the LCD widescreen HDTV, someone was at the foul line. Coming into the fourth quarter the Raptors had under a 6-point lead. I knew this wasn’t going to be enough to fend off Kobe. LA needed to break their 3 game losing streak.

At this point my home theater was buzzing with crowd cheer. Check out the recap above if you didn’t see this one conclude on TV. With literally less then 5 seconds to play, the ball inbounded to Kobe, he found a little bit of room inside the arch and that was that. Another clutch victory. At this point, the home theater exploded.
